JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAMME MINI TENNIS RED
WHO IS THIS FOR: Catering for kids aged 4 to 7 years old. The sessions
run here at Chingford School of Tennis are very much in keeping
with the LTA’s Long Term Player Development.
WHAT TO EXPECT: The main emphasis will be in developing a child’s
fundamental skills including their throwing and receiving skills,
hand-eye co-ordination as well as their movement and balance. In
addition to this will, of course, be the development of the essential
tennis skills relevant to the age and ability of the players. It
is appropriate to note that children have great learning opportunities
around 4 – 15 years to develop the fundamental sporting skills.
After this time the rate of learning declines, therefore it is essential
for these skills to be worked on and that is why sessions will consist
of exercises alongside tennis specialist skills.
COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITIES: For those players who are showing promise
where they are able to rally the ball and are able to focus there
are mini red competitive matches where players get the opportunity
to play in a friendly atmosphere.
